AffirmLock ("we," "our," or "us") provides an iPhone app and related website for mindful app blocking, Screen Time pauses, check-ins, journaling, affirmations, reminders, widgets, and breathing exercises.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide in the app
- Mood check-ins and optional journal entries you choose to enter.
- Affirmations you save, share, record, or keep in your library.
- App preferences, reminder times, unlock duration, and selected restriction settings.
Subscription and diagnostic information
- Subscription status and purchase history are processed through Apple and RevenueCat.
- Apple may provide crash or diagnostic information if you opted into sharing diagnostics with developers.
- Sentry may process crash, error, and performance diagnostics so we can troubleshoot app and website issues.
- We do not receive your payment card number.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect precise location.
- We do not access contacts, photos, or files.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not receive a readable list of apps selected in Apple's Family Controls picker.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide mood check-ins, journaling, affirmations, breathing, reminders, progress history, and widgets.
- To generate personalized affirmations when AI generation is enabled.
- To unlock, verify, and restore Premium subscription access.
- To troubleshoot, secure, and improve app and website functionality.
3. Local Data and AI Processing
AffirmLock is local-first for core reflection data. Mood entries, journal entries, saved affirmations, preferences, and progress history are stored on your device by default.
If you use AI-generated affirmations, the mood, broad derived journal signals, recent affirmation count, and app version needed for that request may be sent through AffirmLock's backend to OpenAI solely to generate the affirmation. Raw journal text is not sent to OpenAI for affirmation generation. We do not store AI request content in our own database.

5. Your Choices
- You can skip optional journaling in the check-in flow.
- You can disable reminders in iOS notification settings or inside the app.
- You can cancel subscriptions through Apple ID subscription settings.
- You can uninstall the app to remove local app data from your device.
6. Children's Privacy
AffirmLock is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided information, contact us so we can delete it.
7. Data Retention
- Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Subscription records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat as needed for billing, entitlement, and legal recordkeeping.
- Crash and diagnostic records are retained by Sentry according to the retention settings for our Sentry project.
